What is the Mt Gravatt PCYC

The Mt Gravatt PCYC is a youth space that is supported by a three-way partnership between PCYC QLD, BCC and the Queensland Government, Department of Communities and is part of the Brisbane City Council Youth Space Network.
We operate as a local youth centre offering a weekly after school activity programs and school holiday programs. It is also operating as a regional youth space/service through its networking and outreach programs such as Getting Amped, Streetwise and Multicultures.
The Mt Gravatt PCYC Youth Space is a safe and supportive place for young people to:
- Participate in supported education programs, personal development and life skills programs
- Participate in activities such as band development and music industry workshops, band nights, movie nights and video making, dance and theatre creation, visual arts and graphic design, fashion creation.
- Organise and facilitate their own activities and events such as a skate dance party or a ‘little day out’ type of event
- Help manage the space
- Relax, do home work or their own research or simply catch up with friends
- Participate in training and employment programs
Who can access the Mt Gravatt PCYC?
- Young people aged 10 to 25 participating in facilitated programs or self directed projects
- Organisations that work with and support young people
- Other businesses and organisations by negotiation with the venue manager
What resources does the Mt Gravatt PCYC have?
- Computer hub for internet and computer access: Windows XP, Microsoft Office
- Band practice room with PA, speakers and digital recording technology
- Open Lounge / Workshop Space for chilling out and playing PS2 etc
- Outdoor Art space with sinks
- Open plan Kitchen adjacent to workshop space
- Substantial outside deck over looking the skate bowl
- Meeting room that can be booked by organisations that support young people for activities that enhance and extend their personal development, educational and training goals and experiences
